Adam Flores

My work isn’t just litigation, I work on behalf of what’s best for my clients. I advise, but they make the ultimate decisions — my priority is to restore their sense of power and self-worth.

Adam is the first attorney in a family of educators. He's not sure how it happened, but there was a moment as a child, riding in the car with his mom en route to jury duty, when he saw a man in a blue blazer outside the courthouse. "Who's that?" he asked. His mom replied, "One of the attorneys." Adam knew instantly that's what he wanted to be. His mom made him a blue blazer so he could get a feel for his future.

Working in the Law Clinic at the University of New Mexico, Adam represented clients seeking citizenship, many having lived in the United States since arriving as young children. Seeing his first client sworn in as a U.S. citizen, Adam understood why he'd become an attorney: he experienced what it means to reconcile what's broken in people's lives.

Prior to joining Kennedy, Kennedy & Ives, Adam worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Linda Vanzi in the New Mexico State Court of Appeals. His experience exposed him to a wide range of cases, from tax law to criminal defense. Writing on behalf of the court, he honed his skills at holding and respecting opposing views equally. He also served as professional articles editor at the New Mexico Law Review and wrote for Vamos a Leer, a blog for educators developing curriculum inclusive of Latin American and indigenous voices and history.

Adam began working in construction as a teenager and continued through law school. His interests include framing carpentry, landscaping, Spanish Colonial history and dogs. Adam and his wife foster babies for the New Mexico Children, Youth, and Family Department.
